Bouygues: green light from AC for takeover of La Poste Telecom

(CercleFinance.com) - On Monday evening, France's competition authority (Autorité de la Concurrence - AC) gave its unconditional approval to Bouygues Telecom's takeover of La Poste Telecom, a company currently controlled by the La Poste group and SFR.


The AC considers that the transaction is unlikely to harm competition in the mobile telephony retail market, pointing to La Poste Telecom's limited market shares in this market.

It also considers that the importance of the distribution network it will bring to Bouygues Telecom should be put into perspective in view of the growing share of distance sales, which today represent two-thirds of mobile telephony sales.
