Euronext: activity down on cash markets in July

(CercleFinance.com) - Activity on Euronext's European cash markets fell in July compared with the same period last year, according to data released by the stock exchange operator on Monday evening.


The operator of the Amsterdam, Brussels, Dublin, Lisbon, Milan,
Oslo and Paris stock exchanges says it recorded a 2% drop in average daily trading volumes to 2.2 million last month, compared with July 2023.

Compared with June, trading volumes were down by 11%.

However, expressed in value terms, average activity on cash markets rose by 6% y-o-y to E11.6bn, Euronext points out.

Compared with June, however, this figure was down 17%.

IPO activity remained relatively sluggish last month, with just six deals compared with seven in June.

Since the beginning of 2024, 26 companies have taken their first steps on Euronext's markets, compared with 33 in the first seven months of 2023.

Euronext shares were up by around 0.6% on Tuesday morning following the publication of these figures, outperforming a gain of around 0.2% in the SBF 120 index.
