Bpost: EU approves acquisition of French Staci

(CercleFinance.com) - The European Commission has approved the acquisition of sole control of Staci SAS, based in France, by bpost SA/NV société de droit public ('bpost'), based in Belgium.


The transaction mainly concerns the markets for small parcel delivery and contract logistics services.

The Commission concluded that the proposed concentration would not raise competition concerns, given its limited impact on competition in the markets where the companies are active.

In particular, the Commission considered that the merged entity would not have the ability to engage in foreclosure practices, given the existence of credible alternatives to bpost and the limited position of the target company on the markets where it is active.
