TotalEnergies: FID for storage project in Germany

(CercleFinance.com) - TotalEnergies announces that it has taken the final investment decision (FID) for a 100 MW / 200 MWh battery electricity storage project in Dahlem, North Rhine-Westphalia, with a total investment of over E75m.


This is the first project approved by TotalEnergies from the Kyon Energy pipeline, which the company acquired in February. It will benefit from the expertise of its subsidiary Saft, which will provide the project with its latest-generation technology.

The unit is scheduled to go into commercial operation in H2 2026, and the startup Quadra Energy, acquired by TotalEnergies in October 2023, will value the flexibility provided by these batteries on electricity markets.
