BAE Systems: $22 million contract with US defense industry

(CercleFinance.com) - BAE Systems announces that the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering has awarded its FAST Labs organization a $22 million contract through the Trusted & Assured Microelectronics program, in agreement with the Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC).


This contract will support the project to accelerate the modernization of microelectronic systems through prototyping and innovation.

BAE Systems will develop advanced prototype chips that will be integrated into military systems and made available to the entire US defense industry.

Small and modular, these 'chiplet' chips could enable significant advances with electronic warfare technologies operating in smaller formats.

The project also includes collaboration with Extoll GmbH and Comcores ApS, and builds on recent technological advances in the State-of-the-Art Heterogeneous Integrated Packaging (SHIP) program.
