Julius Baer: Goldman partner chosen to become CEO
(CercleFinance.com) - Julius Baer announced on Tuesday that it had selected Stefan Bollinger, a Goldman Sachs partner, to become its next Chief Executive Officer.
Following a recruitment process described as "thorough", the Swiss private bank reports that the Swiss citizen, aged just 50, was the choice of its appointments committee.
He is currently co-head of private wealth management for Europe, the Middle East and Africa at Goldman Sachs, a position based in London.
In this role, he has succeeded in more than doubling the assets under management in his area of activity in the space of five years, Julius Baer points out in a press release.
Stefan Bollinger, who has spent time in Hong Kong, London, Luxembourg, New York and Zurich, joined Goldman Sachs in 2004 after a spell at J.P. Morgan. He became a partner of the American investment bank 14 years ago.
He will take up his new position in February 2025 at the latest.
Listed on the Zurich stock exchange, Julius Baer shares rose by 0.6% following this announcement, bringing their gains since the start of the year to over 10%.
