Siemens: launches partnership with Stadtwerke Stuttgart

(CercleFinance.com) - Siemens Smart Infrastructure and public energy provider Stadtwerke Stuttgart have announced their partnership to support the transition to sustainable urban energy in the city.


Yesterday's inauguration of Stadtwerke Stuttgart's headquarters marks the culmination of 18 months of collaborative planning and implementation, combining Siemens' expertise in sustainable infrastructure development with Stadtwerke Stuttgart's experience in the production and supply of renewable energy.

Applications from the Siemens Xcelerator open digital platform are used to control the intelligent energy management system in the office complex, warehouse and workshop.

This system optimally links renewable energy supply and demand for everything from heating and lighting to elevators and office equipment, in addition to electrifying the mobility center, which will be used to charge the electric vehicles in Stadtwerke Stuttgart's fleet.

"This project will serve as a showcase for other companies seeking to maximize sector coupling in order to achieve more profitable, energy-efficient and, consequently, more sustainable operations" says the group.
