ABB: to supply propulsion to Washington State Ferries

(CercleFinance.com) - ABB has won a contract from Washington State Ferries (WSF) to supply propulsion for new hybrid electric ferries.


This project marks an important milestone in the evolution of sustainable shipping in the United States, with ABB playing a central role in the development and delivery of the five new vessels," says the group.

ABB will supply complete hybrid electric propulsion systems that include the Onboard DC Grid TM power distribution solution, energy storage, advanced power management and integrated marine automation.

ABB will also provide full design and engineering support, working closely with WSF.
