Alstom: unveils the design for the São Paulo metro

(CercleFinance.com) - Alstom and Linha Universidade have unveiled the design of the trains for Line 6 of the São Paulo metro.


Presented as 'light and energy-efficient', these trains are designed to enhance the passenger experience with 'spacious doors and corridors, spaces reserved for people with reduced mobility and large windows'.

They also incorporate modern technologies such as passenger counting and video surveillance.

Made of stainless steel, the trains can carry up to 2044 passengers and reach speeds of 90 km/h.

Twenty-two trains will be produced in Taubaté and operated by Linha Universidade over a period of nineteen years, the press release states.
