Thales: EASA DVR for drone operations

(CercleFinance.com) - Thales announces that it has been awarded the first Design Verification Report (DVR) in Europe by EASA (the European Aviation Safety Agency) for light drone operations in SAIL III (moderate risk) conditions.


This DVR, which was implemented in April 2021, aims to ensure the operational safety of UAVs. It strengthens Thales' position in the emerging civilian drone market, and takes it a step closer to certification of its UAS100 drone under the most demanding operating conditions.

The next stages of its certification are already underway with the European Agency, and flight test campaigns are underway, notably through a cooperation agreement with Centaurium UAS, a subsidiary of the Swiss Centaurium group.
