Safran: in negotiations to acquire Preligens

(CercleFinance.com) - Safran has announced that it has entered into exclusive discussions with a view to acquiring 100% of the share capital of Preligens, a leader in artificial intelligence (AI) dedicated to the aerospace and defence industries, for an estimated enterprise value of E220m.


Founded in 2016 and based in France, Preligens generated sales of E28m last year and employs 220 staff, including 140 engineers for the R&D division.

This acquisition would represent a unique opportunity for Safran to add state-of-the-art AI capabilities to its offering, while accelerating its digital transformation roadmap, in particular that applied to Industry 4.0, the group explains.

The transaction is subject to the usual regulatory approvals, as well as information and consultation procedures with Preligens' employee representatives. Completion is expected in Q3 2024.
