Quadient: strategic partnership in crates in Japan
(CercleFinance.com) - Quadient announced on Friday the signature of a strategic partnership with JR East Smart Logistics, the logistics arm of Japan's East Japan Railway, which will enable it to expand its locker network in the country.
Under the terms of the agreement, Multi E-Cube station lockers will become part of Quadient's network, which itself has nearly 7,000 parcel collection and delivery points in Japan.
The French group's intelligent functionalities will be integrated into JR East's system, a first since its technology had never before been deployed within a third-party network of lockers.
Today, 145 Multi E-Cube units are installed in key locations such as Tokyo and Shinjuku stations, and around 1,000 units are expected to be deployed by the end of 2026.
