Aker: CO2 storage license in the Norwegian North Sea
(CercleFinance.com) - Aker BP announces that it has been awarded a new CO2 storage license in the Norwegian North Sea, in partnership with PGNiG Upstream Norway AS.
The storage license is called Atlas and is located close to the Yggdrasil field operated by Aker BP
. The license comes with a work program that includes reprocessing of 3D seismic data, geological studies and a drilling or release decision after two years.
According to Aker BP, the award of this license represents an 'attractive opportunity' that will enable CO2 storage resources to evolve, supporting the deployment of CCS (Carbon Capture & Storage) in North-Western Europe.
