Vivendi: Canal+ further raises stake in Viu
(CercleFinance.com) - Vivendi subsidiary Canal+ announced on Thursday that it had increased its stake in Asian streaming service Viu to 36.
8%, in line with the agreement reached with Hong Kong's PCCW last year. Canal+ reiterates that it considers the Asian market to be one of its main growth vectors, and renews its confidence in Viu and its management team. It had a stake of 30% last February. The transaction announced today is part of a $300m phased investment, at the end of which the Canal+ Group will have an option to increase its stake in Viu to 51%.
