BAE Systems: presents a 4th prototype of its AMPV

(CercleFinance.com) - BAE Systems announces that the fourth prototype of its Armored Multi-Purpose Vehicle (AMPV) will be presented this week at Eurosatory.


Configured with a common top plate called the External Mission Equipment Package (ExMEP), this prototype demonstrates the vehicle's ability to integrate various equipment and turret systems, such as Oshkosh Defense's 30mm weapon system.

BAE Systems recently received a $754m contract from the US Army to continue manufacturing the AMPV family of vehicles until February 2027, following an initial $797m contract in August 2023.

The five variants currently in production offer improved survivability and performance compared with the M113 vehicles, assures BAE Systems.
