Hoffmann Green: carbon-free concrete for a wind farm
(CercleFinance.com) - Hoffmann Green Cement Technologies has announced that the Valorem Group has poured the world's first wind turbine foundation based on 0% clinker decarbonated concrete, on the Plaine des Moulins wind farm site.
The use of 630 m3 of decarbonated concrete saved 33 tonnes of CO2, i.e. 32% less than with traditional concrete, without any change in site methods.
The La Plaine des Moulins wind farm, located in Jazeneuil (Vienne), will comprise five 180-meter-high wind turbines with a total installed capacity of 18 MW, and is scheduled for commissioning in early 2025.
