ASML: share price rises on CFO's comments

(CercleFinance.com) - ASML was by far the biggest riser on the Euro STOXX 50 index on Wednesday, boosted by reassuring comments made by its CFO during a conference call with Jefferies analysts.


During the call, Roger Dassen expressed optimism about commercial discussions with TSMC, which he said would lead to orders for its 2 nm chip etching technology in the second and third quarters, the US brokerage said in a research note.

He also confirmed, according to Jefferies, that the company expects to reach the upper limit of its sales targets set for 2025.

These comments buoyed the stock, which climbed 6.6% in the afternoon, while the STOXX Europe 600 Technology index of European technology stocks was virtually unchanged.
