T-Mobile: acquisition of UScellular's wireless activities
(CercleFinance.com) - T-Mobile reports an agreement to acquire substantially all of UScellular's wireless business, including customers and stores, as well as certain specified spectrum assets, for approximately $4.
4 billion.
'Upon closing, T-Mobile's 5G network will expand to provide millions of UScell customers, particularly those in underserved rural areas, with a superior connectivity experience', explains the telecom operator.
It expects the transaction to generate around $1 billion in annual operating and capital cost synergies, with the total cost of integration currently estimated at between $2.2 and $2.6 billion.
It would be financed through a combination of cash and the assumption of up to $2 billion in debt. Subject to customary conditions and certain regulatory approvals, it is expected to be completed by mid-2025.
