Mondelēz: fined E337.5m by EU

(CercleFinance.com) - The European Commission has fined Mondelēz International E337.
5m for hindering cross-border trade in chocolate, biscuits and coffee between Member States, which is in breach of EU competition rules. NB pmt -0.2%.

Mondelēz entered into anti-competitive agreements and abused its dominant position to restrict the resale of its products in different EU countries in order to keep prices high, the Commission says.

These illegal practices prevented retailers from taking advantage of lower prices in certain Member States, thereby penalising European consumers.
