United Airlines: cuts losses in Q1

(CercleFinance.com) - On Tuesday evening, United Airlines reported an adjusted loss of $0.
15 per share for Q1 2024, as well as an adjusted pre-tax loss of $79m, $187m better than a year ago.

The Chicago-based airline explains that its results suffered from the grounding of Boeing 737 MAX 9 aircraft, which cost around $200m, a charge without which it would have posted a profit over the period.

Demand remains strong, with double-digit quarter-on-quarter growth in business class, United Airlines says, which confirms its adjusted EPS target of $9 to $11 for 2024. NB: pmt +5.2%.
