Prodways: discontinuation of small jewelry printers

(CercleFinance.com) - Prodways Group announces the discontinuation of its activity selling small printers for high-end jewelry (marketed under the Solidscape brand), a 'strategic choice to allocate resources to volume industrial applications'.


"The disappointing performance in 2023, mainly due to weak machine sales, has prompted the Group to take measures to improve its results rapidly and structurally", it explains.

The discontinuation of this activity, which in 2023 generated sales close to five million euros and a significant operating loss, will have a positive impact on Prodways' profitability. It is being implemented now and should be finalized by the end of summer 2024.

The impact on the 2023 financial statements is estimated at this stage at around 15 million euros in asset write-downs (with no cash impact). In 2024, costs related to this shutdown should represent just over one million euros, mainly in the first half of the year.
