USA: unemployment registrations virtually unchanged

(CercleFinance.com) - The Labor Department announced 220,000 new jobless claims in the USA last week, up 1,000 on the revised figure for the previous week (219,000, compared with 218,000 initially announced).


The four-week moving average - more representative of the underlying trend - came to 220,750 last week, up 500 on the previous week's revised average.750 last week, up 500 on the previous week's revised average.

Finally, the number of people receiving regular benefits fell by 64,000 to 1,861,000 last week, the most recent period available for this statistic.
