Airbus: to receive big Air France order for A350s
(CercleFinance.com) - On Monday evening, Air France-KLM announced that it intends to order 50 Airbus A350 family aircraft, in order to accelerate the renewal and rationalisation of its long-haul fleet, as well as improve its environmental performance.
The order will include Airbus A350-900s and A350-1000s, with purchase rights for a further 40 aircraft. The first deliveries are scheduled to start in 2026 and run through to 2030.
This will be an evolutionary order, offering the group the flexibility to allocate the aircraft to its various airlines according to market dynamics and the local regulatory framework, it says.
It of course remains subject to the usual approvals by Air France's governing bodies. Note that with the orders placed to date, Air France-KLM will become the world's largest operator of the Airbus A350 family, with up to 99 aircraft.
