Verallia: steps up efforts to reuse glass

(CercleFinance.com) - On Wednesday Verallia announced that it intends to intensify its efforts in glass reuse in Europe with the implementation of several pilot schemes.


Europe's leading producer of glass packaging for beverages and food explains that it plans to participate in several structuring projects to be deployed between now and next year.

The work of this working group will continue until March 2025, with a view to rolling out this model on a European scale, the company says.

In France, Verallia has taken a minority stake in Nantes-based startup Bout' à Bout', created in 2016 to manage the glass reuse cycle, from packaging collection to washing to redistribution.

Verallia has set itself the target of reducing its emissions by 46% and is aiming to be net zero by 2050.
