bp: big investment in JV with Iberdrola
(CercleFinance.com) - On Thursday Iberdrola and bp announced that they plan to invest one billion euros in their joint venture in charging stations for electric vehicles, which was created last year.
The Spanish electricity company and the British energy group say they want to build a network of 11,700 ultra-fast charging points in Spain and Portugal by 2030. Under the terms of the agreement, this infrastructure would be deployed at service stations owned by BP. As part of their strategic alliance, Iberdrola and bp have set an intermediate target of installing 5,000 fast chargers in the Iberian Peninsula by 2025. Iberdrola currently operates some 3,500 charging points in Spain and Portugal, mainly powered by renewable energy and used by around 100,000 users. Copyright (c) 2023 CercleFinance.com.
