Toshiba: improves quantum computer architecture
(CercleFinance.com) - Researchers at Toshiba Corporation have achieved a breakthrough in quantum computer architecture: the basic design of a dual-transmon coupler that will improve the speed and accuracy of quantum computing in tunable couplers.
The coupler is a key device for determining the performance of superconducting quantum computers.
Simulations with this new technology have shown that it can achieve two-qubit gates, the basic operations of quantum computing, with 99.99% accuracy and a processing time of only 24 ns.
This technology is expected to advance the realisation of more efficient quantum computers that will contribute to areas such as carbon neutrality and the development of new medicines.
