Visa: launches upcycled plastic card

(CercleFinance.com) - Visa and CPI Card Group announce the launch of the "Earthwise" card, which, depending on the model, contains up to 98% upcycled plastic and is produced in a "more sustainably produced" way.


"CPI created the Earthwise High Content Card, the first of its kind endorsed by Visa, to help reduce first-use plastic in payment cards and reduce plastic waste from entering the environment. Through an exclusive agreement, the companies will provide all Visa-issuing financial institutions worldwide access to the Earthwise Card... and dual interface capable, enabling both contact and contactless payment," the companies said.

This global launch is "an exclusive offering for Visa clients and cardholders".
