Goldman Sachs: raises $4bn for new fund

(CercleFinance.com) - Goldman Sachs Asset Management announced on Monday that it had raised $4bn for its latest-generation infrastructure fund, in line with its initial target.

This latest round completes the financing of the West Street Infrastructure Partners IV fund and its associated vehicles, which will invest in the energy transition, digital infrastructure, transportation and logistics, and social infrastructure sectors.

Capital has been raised from a variety of institutional and high-net-worth investors, and includes significant investments from Goldman Sachs and its employees.

WSIP IV has already invested $2.3bn in eight companies, including Synthica, a US developer and operator of organic and renewable gas plants, Frøy, a provider of transportation infrastructure, and support for the Norwegian aquaculture sector.

This closing comes shortly after Goldman Sachs' first secondary infrastructure fund, Vintage Infrastructure Partners I, raised $1bn last month.
