Ford: new CEO from October

(CercleFinance.com) - Ford announced on Tuesday the departure of its CEO since 2017, Jim Hackett, who will be replaced by Jim Farley, the group's current deputy CEO, from October.

In a statement, the US carmaker said that Hackett, 65, and Farley, 58, will work hand in hand over the next two months to ensure a "smooth transition" at the helm of the group.

Jim Hackett, who arrived three years ago, was at the origin of the group's strategic refocusing on electric and autonomous vehicles and the relaunch of some emblematic models, such as the Ford Mustang and the 4x4 Bronco.

He will continue to act as "special advisor" to the group until March 2021.

Jim Farley joined Ford in 2007 as Global Sales and Marketing Director before taking over as head of Ford Europe a little later.
