Ford: US sales down 2.1% in August.

(CercleFinance.com) - Ford's US sales totaled 209,897 vehicles in August, down 2.
1%.

Fleet sales fell 0.2% to 45,830 vehicles, while retail sales reached 164,067 vehicles, down 2.7% y-o-y: the overall decline results from fleet order timing.

Demand remains strong for Super Duty trucks, which represented 53% of retail sales last month. F-Series average transaction pricing increased $3,400 from 2016, to 45,600 dollars per vehicle.

About 35% of Explorer retail sales included high series Limited, Sport and Platinum models in August.

Mark LaNeve, Ford vice president, US Marketing, Sales and Service commented, “We are seeing high demand overall for our F-Series lineup this year, outpacing full-size truck segment growth 2 to 1.”
