Meta: receives request for information from the EU

(CercleFinance.com) - The European Commission today announced that it has officially sent Meta a request for information (RFI) under the Digital Services Act (DSA).


The Commission is asking Meta to provide more information on ad-free subscription options for Facebook and Instagram.

Meta should also provide additional information on the steps it has taken to comply with its obligations regarding Facebook and Instagram's advertising practices, recommendation systems and risk assessments related to the introduction of this subscription option.

Meta must provide the requested information that builds on Meta's previous responses to the Commission by 15 March and to the remaining questions by March 22, 2024. Based on the assessment of Meta's responses, the Commission will evaluate the next steps.
