Amazon: towards an AWS region in Saudi Arabia
(CercleFinance.com) - Amazon Web Services (AWS), the cloud services division of Amazon, has announced plans to launch an infrastructure region in Saudi Arabia in 2026, to meet the strong demand for cloud services in the country and throughout the Middle East.
'The AWS region will enable customers to run workloads and securely store customer content in the Kingdom while serving end users with even lower latency', it explains.
AWS plans to invest more than $5.3 billion in Saudi Arabia, with two new innovation centers and 'improving the skills of students, developers and the next generation of local talent'.
