Amazon: unveils new, more affordable Fire tablets

com on Wednesday unveiled a new slate of tablets featuring more storage and longer battery life, at prices that the company considers as being more affordable.

The Seattle based tech giant today introduced the new generation of its Fire HD 8 tablet lineup, including a new device offering 30% faster performance, storage expandable up to 1TB and up to 12 hours of battery life for just 89.99 dollars.

For 20 dollars more, the Fire HD 8 Plus features 50% more RAM, and six months of book service Kindle Unlimited included, Amazon said.

As the latest model in the range, the Fire HD 8 Kids Edition - which comes bundled with a kid-proof case in blue, pink, or purple, and a two-year guarantee - is set to be available at a price of 139.99 dollars.
