Ericsson: wins 5G contract with Bell in Canada

(CercleFinance.com) - Swedish mobile network supplier Ericsson said on Tuesday that it has won a contract to supply Canadian communications service provider Bell Canada with a 5G network.


The company said in a statement that it would roll out its products and solutions as Bell Canada expands its 5G coverage - including an expected boost after a spectrum auction by the Canadian government later in 2020.

The 5G deal builds on a previous partnership between the companies, which included 4G LTE network collaboration.

Ericsson said it currently has 93 commercial 5G agreements or contracts.

On Tuesday another Canadian carrier, Telus, said it had selected Ericsson, alongside with Finland's Nokia, to build its 5G network.
