Equinor: green light for Oseberg operating plan

(CercleFinance.com) - Equinor announces that its plan to develop and operate the Oseberg field has been approved by the Norwegian Ministry of Petroleum and Energy today.


The project partners intend to invest 10 billion Norwegian kronor (just under 1 billion euros) in upgrading the infrastructure to increase gas production and reduce CO2 emissions.

Equinor says that the installation of two new compressors at the Oseberg Field Center will increase the level of Oseberg's remaining recoverable gas and oil reserves by 54% from 2025.

In addition, emissions from Oseberg production will be reduced through a partial electrification of the Oseberg Field Centre and the Oseberg South Platform.
