Altice: EU clears joint venture with Vodafone

(CercleFinance.com) - The European Commission has approved the creation of a joint venture between UK-based Vodafone and Luxembourg-based Altice Luxembourg.


The joint venture, FibreCo, will deploy, operate and maintain mainly urban fibre optic telecommunications networks in Germany, to which it will offer wholesale access on an open and non-discriminatory basis.

The Commission concluded that the proposed concentration would not raise competition concerns, given the limited horizontal overlaps and vertical links between the companies' activities in the markets concerned.
