Airbus: partnership with TotalEnergies for SAF

(CercleFinance.com) - Airbus and TotalEnergies announce that they have signed a strategic partnership to meet the challenges of decarbonizing the aviation sector through sustainable aviation fuels (SAF), in line with the ambition of net carbon neutrality for air transport by 2050.


The partnership covers the supply of SAF to Airbus by TotalEnergies for more than half of its needs in Europe, as well as a Research & Innovation program aimed at developing 100% sustainable fuels.

The impact of the composition of these sustainable fuels on the reduction of CO2 emissions and non-CO2 effects, such as contrails, will also be studied, the groups say.
