STM: collaboration with indie for a car charger

(CercleFinance.com) - STMicroelectronics announced on Monday that it will be collaborating with US-based indie Semiconductor in the field of automotive electronics.


The two semiconductor manufacturers intend to develop microelectronic solutions to protect data privacy and security as part of a wireless car charger technology.

In detail, indie has selected the STSAFE-V100-Qi platform designed by ST to secure network-connected devices for integration into its Qi charger.

This protection element should enable it to reinforce protection against risks such as remote tampering, counterfeiting and copying.

In its press release, STMicroelectronics states that it plans to start production of the STSAFE-V100-Qi by the end of the year.
