SES wins U.S. Air Force drone contract
(CercleFinance.com) - SES announced Wednesday that it has been selected to provide satellite capacity to the U.
S. Air Force under a multi-year contract valued at $46.8 million.
The Luxembourg-based operator says its subsidiary SES Space & Defense has been selected to provide Ku-band geostationary satellite communications services for the U.S. Air Force's (USAF) Air Combat Command. Air Force (USAF).
These transmission capacities are intended for the test phases of its remotely piloted aircraft (RPA) systems program.
The coverage provided by SES is to extend from the continental United States to Hawaii, via Alaska and the Pacific Ocean.
SES Space & Defense has also been entrusted with the management and maintenance of this high-power satellite network.
