SES: SES 21 satellite operational and in orbit

(CercleFinance.com) - Today SES announced that the new SES-21 satellite has become operational at the 131 degrees West orbital position, following its launch on 4 October 2022.


SES-21 will enable SES to continue to provide C-band broadcast and radio services to millions of US households, as well as provide other critical networked communications services in the US.

SES-21 was successfully launched by United Launch Alliance (ULA) in tandem with SES-20 from Cape Canaveral, Florida.

SES-21 is essential to free up some C-band spectrum to enable wireless operators to deploy 5G services.

SES-20, the other SES C-band satellite launched by ULA in October, is expected to enter service by the end of the year.

Although not stratospheric, the SES stock is currently outperforming the market by over 1%, up 1.3%.
