Telecom Italia: sets up new supervisory body

(CercleFinance.com) - Telecom Italia said on Thursday that it has set up a new supervisory body to further strengthen internal control and risk management.


The separate structure will include anti-mafia prosecutor Giuseppe Pignatone as its chairman, as well as professor of criminal law Carlo Piergallini, TIM said in a statement.

The Italian telecom group said the new body will support "best practices" in compliance with governance principles to be shortly published.

TIM plans to hold its shareholders' meeting on 23 April in Milan, with its board of directors meeting again on 18 May to review the group's first-quarter results.
