Linde: launches hydrogen trains in Germany

(CercleFinance.com) - On Wednesday Linde announced that a world-first hydrogen-powered train line in Bremervörde, Germany, is due to start operating.


The system, which is designed, owned and operated by the industrial gases manufacturer, is designed to power 14 passenger trains, each travelling 1,000 kilometres on a single charge.

The system - which is compatible with a switch to green hydrogen - has a total capacity of 1,600 kg of hydrogen per day, making it one of the most powerful refuelling stations in the world.

These trains are intended to replace older diesel locomotives.
