Ryanair celebrates 30 million passengers at Prestwick
(CercleFinance.com) - Ryanair has celebrated carrying 30 million passengers at Prestwick during its 30 years in business.
Ryanair was the first low-cost airline to operate at Prestwick, starting with its first flight from Dublin Airport in 1994.
Ryanair now operates 10 routes to and from Prestwick, connecting 3 countries across Europe with its 2 Prestwick-based aircraft.
This summer, Ryanair operates over 80 weekly flights to and from Prestwick, covering 10 routes, including Alicante, Barcelona, Faro, Murcia, Pisa and Tenerife.
Jade Kirwan, Ryanair's Head of Communications, said: 'This milestone is testament to Ryanair's continued commitment, growth and investment in Prestwick, where Ryanair has operated since 1994. This summer, Ryanair is operating 80 weekly flights on 10 routes on our 2 Prestwick-based aircraft, representing an investment of $200 million and supporting over 500 local jobs'.
