Marks & Spencer: H1 profit up
(CercleFinance.com) - The retail group has announced H1 profit before tax and adjustment items of £360.
2m to 30 September (compared with £205.5m for H1 2022/23).
Statutory pre-tax profit was £325.6m (vs. £208.5m).
M&S recorded a 14.7% increase in food sales. Adjusted operating profit was £164.9m (vs. £71.8m in H1 2022/23), with a margin of 4.3%.
Sales of clothing and home products rose by 5.7%. Adjusted operating profit was £223.4m (H1 2022/23: £171.4m), with a margin of 12.1%.
