bp: ships first LNG to Chinese customers

(CercleFinance.com) - British oil and gas group bp said that it has begun to directly supply gas customers in China with gas from liquefied natural gas (LNG) that it has imported into the country.


The company said the first cargo of gas delivered at the import terminal in Shenzhen's port arrived yesterday, under an agreement that offers a capacity of 600,000 tonnes a year.

This is the first time that bp creates fully integrated gas value chain into China, directly connecting upstream resources, transportation and trading with downstream gas customers.
