BAE Systems: acquisition of British company Kirintec
(CercleFinance.com) - BAE Systems announces the acquisition of Kirintec, a British company specialising in cyber and electromagnetic activities (CEMA).
The company specialises in countering improvised explosive devices (IEDs), unmanned aerial systems (UAS) and electronic warfare products and solutions.
Kirintec's technology protects military platforms and personnel against cyber and electromagnetic attacks. The products' open architecture enables them to work together across all domains and on a range of military platforms.
Kirintec will become part of BAE Systems' Digital Intelligence business, providing new products to expand the company's portfolio in the fields of electronic warfare and force protection.
BAE Systems Digital Intelligence said that the nature of warfare is changing for our military customers, and adversaries are increasingly using offensive and defensive cyber and electronic warfare capabilities, so Kirintec is a welcome addition to our business. Together, our complementary capabilities will help our armed forces to ensure dominance of the electromagnetic spectrum and to conduct operations with a reduced risk of operational losses or setbacks.
