Vivendi: completes merger with Lagardère

(CercleFinance.com) - Vivendi announces that today it has completed its merger with the Lagardère group.


This transaction gives Vivendi a whole new dimension, reinforcing its positions as a major player in culture, media and entertainment, and becoming a world leader in publishing, travel retail and experiences.

The transaction also enables the Lagardère group to benefit from the support of a stable, long-term shareholder base, to accompany it in its development projects, Vivendi says.

This merger follows the completion of two sales that Vivendi committed itself to make before the European Commission, i.e. 100% of Editis' capital to International Media Invest (IMI) on 14 November, and the sale of Gala magazine (owned by Prisma Media) to Groupe Figaro, completed today.

Thanks to this deal, Vivendi is significantly larger, with combined pro-forma sales of over E16.5bn in 2022. Together, the group's companies employ around 66,000 people worldwide.
