Colas: contract to build metro in Cairo

(CercleFinance.com) - Colas announces that its railway subsidiary, Colas Rail, leader of a consortium with Orascom Construction and Thalès, has signed a contract with Mitsubishi Corporation for the construction of the first phase of line 4 of the Cairo metro.


The consortium will build the railway systems, tracks and depots for a total of 650 million euros, including 159 million euros for Colas Rail.

This new line of the Cairo metro will link the Hadayek El Ashgar station located in the City of 6 October to that of El Malek El Saleh, in New Cairo. 19 km long, it will have 16 stations and will notably serve the emblematic sites of the Grand Egyptian Museum and the pyramids of Giza.
