JCDecaux: joint venture created for Central America

( - JCDecaux announces that its majority-owned subsidiary JCDecaux Top Media is to merge with the outdoor advertising division of Grupo Publigrafik in six Central American countries (Guatemala, Panama, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Honduras and Nicaragua).

The new joint venture is owned by JCDecaux (55.6%), the existing shareholders of Grupo Publigrafik (27%) and Top Partners (17.4%). Their combined expertise, in a highly fragmented advertising market, should open up new prospects for advertisers.

This merger between two family-owned groups should also act as a growth lever for outdoor advertising, which represents around 6.5% of the advertising market in this region with a population of 51.6 million.
