Nokia: chosen by Verizon for private networks

(CercleFinance.com) - Verizon announced Thursday that it will advance its offering in private wireless networks through the integration of Nokia technologies.

In a press release, the US telecom operator says that it has completed the first certification phase to add the Nokia Digital Automation Cloud (DAC) platform among the applications that can be associated with its licensed spectrum bands.

Once integrated into the portfolio, the Nokia DAC application will expand the range of hardware and software available to business customers who have subscribed to its 5G private network service, it says.

Nokia's communications capabilities can also be used to optimize mobile coverage within the buildings of its corporate customers, Verizon points out.

In its view, private networks offer a higher level of security than WiFi, exceptional data rates and low latency, but also have the advantage of being adaptable to companies' specific needs and requirements.
